Question about activation process

I ordered an ADSL account on Monday, and have a question about the process.

The ADSL tracker quite quickly reached the stage where it says

' Your order is being submitted to BT for ADSL activation.'

Should I expect to hear any progress during this stage, or does it just sit there until it is activated or a problem is encountered?

I'm at the same place as you. They'll either contact you when your line has been converted or if they encounter any problems.
