Problems installing PCI ADSL modem drivers

My Plusnet supplied PCI ADSL modem was working OK until I reinstalled Windows XP and SP1 . When the find new hardware wizard prompts me for the drivers for my PCI ADSL modem I follow the instructions as I did when I initially installed the it. How ever when I try to use the AccessRunner Control Panel to complete the configuration I get a pop-up dialog box titled CnxAdslC with text 'Configuration of the DSL device is not possible because the Hardware is not installed or the installation is corrupt'.

I tried both the drivers on the CD that came with the self install package and later drivers. Both give the same results. Following suggestions of uninstalling drivers and moving the card from one PCI slot to another have been no more use. Has anyone any useful advice?

You could try drivers from:

I resolved the problem eventually by removing the PCI ADSL card from its slot, reinstalling windows XP + SP1 (again), replacing the card and installing the drivers from the CD.

It looks like it's a bad idea to install windows XP with the card in place.
