Post Max upgrade - has PN changed its settings?

Hi PN,

Many thanks for the upgrade, which went through smoothly overnight. Interestingly, all the speed tests I've run this morning show download rates almost exactly on 2MB, which makes me wonder whether the settings at PN haven't been changed yet. Could one of your fine CS bods have a quick look and let me know, please?

Give it a few days.
The Max equipment has to establish your best stable rate (normally over the first three to five days) and send that to Plusnet. Plusnet will then automatically set it as your Maximum Stable Rate, and that will be your new download theoretical limit speed.

If all is going well, I'd expect your speed to increase in the next week.

Am I right, though, in thinking that there are two basic steps to an upgrade - the line itself is changed, and the ISP alters its local settings?

What I'm wondering (and perhaps didn't explain very well) is if the local settings at PlusNet's end have been altered appropriately? I ask because the download speeds are all sitting just below the theoretical cap of a 2MB line, which is what I had until yesterday...

Cheers.

They will be the same as yesterday since Max hasn't had time to decide on a good speed for you and then to communicate that to Plusnet (two stages).
It is supposed to take three to five days initially, and will then be an ongoing process with BT sending adjustments to your speed to Plusnet as it thinks fit.
Give it a week before deciding that it's not right.
