Possible DNS problem? cant connect to my webspace directly,

I am having problems connecting to my webspace server (not plusnet) the address of my site is http://www.funkybands.co.uk
The website no longer shows up and I cant even ftp into it, it was working fine yesterday but now wont work!

The server itself is up because i am able to ftp to it using the shell account on my plusnet cgi webspace.

I just cant connect to it from my pc directly. any ideas?

Possible DNS problem? cant connect to my webspace directly,

Just tested it and its up and I can get on OK.

Can you connect using a IP? Check your host file for anything which may stop it. Try a diffrent dns server try 194.119.131.66. can you ping it by name or ip?

Could be a routing/DNS error. Have you tried the old "reboot all equipment" answer or, if your using Win2000/XP goto command prompt and enter :- ipconfig /flushdns

Possible DNS problem? cant connect to my webspace directly,

Well I can access it fine.
What equipment are you using, USB modem or router ??
When rebooting all equipment, including router, it is better to wait 10 minutes or more so as to possibly get a different VP and to kill the session at the exchange.

Possible DNS problem? cant connect to my webspace directly,

Using a 4 port ADSL router+switch connected to my 3com NIC.

I'll try disconnecting the router for 10mins and try again. Seems strange that all other sites seem to be fine, just the one i want to use!
Im wondering if my own server has banned me! hehe

In a command prompt window try typing ipconfig /flushdns - which will clear out any DNS records. It's possible your computer cached a bad record for that site.

OK, so you have rebooted (after 10 mins), flushed DNS recoreds, tried a different OS, cleared the route table in router but everyone else appears to be able to access the site !!!
Well, I can only suggest that this is one of these Internet quirks and I would leave it for at least 12hrs to allow any routing to change. As with your router, routers along the path can also have bad DNS records.

I assume you wanted to update something on the site, hence the initial "can't FTP" question.
