Packet Loss

Anyone else experiencing packet loss at the moment, I just took this from winmtr and my lines been like this for nearly a week:

Host - % | Sent | Recv | Best | Avrg | Wrst | Last |
xxx.routerlogin.com - 0 | 1567 | 1567 | 0 | 0 | 15 | 0 |
|lo0-plusnet.pte-ag2.plus.net - 0 | 1567 | 1567 | 31 | 49 | 281 | 46 |
ge0-0-0-504.pte-gw1.plus.net - 1 | 1567 | 1563 | 31 | 47 | 94 | 46
ge1-0-0-23.ptn-gw1.plus.net - 0 | 1567 | 1567 | 31 | 47 | 203 | 46 |
195.166.129.3 - 1 | 1567 | 1564 | 31 | 51 | 281 | 46 |
se3-0.pih-gw1.plus.net - 1 | 1567 | 1563 | 46 | 50 | 93 | 46
vlan8.pih-gw4.plus.net - 1 | 1567 | 1565 | 46 | 50 | 94 | 62 |
pih-al4.plus.net - 1 | 1567 | 1566 | 46 | 50 | 94 | 62 |
portal.plus.net - 0 | 1566 | 1566 | 46 | 50 | 94 | 46 |

This is getting beyond a joke now.

1. get yourself an account with, and ping from www.l8nc.com
2. try rebooting through the gateways, until you find a clean one.

You can see your gateway from that first outside line of the tracert:
"|lo0-plusnet.pte-ag2.plus.net - 0 | 1567 | 1567 | 31 | 49 | 281 | 46 |"

- its pte-ag2.

There are 5 gateways: pte-ag1 and 2, ptn-ag1 and 2 and thn-ag1. (on Zen the gateways have all been given intelligent rDNS names - a nice touch)

or you can check via http://users.plus.net/@gateway

...and you must read another recent thread on the subject - packet loss

The main contributors to that thread have now left Plusnet - sad really, good people.

Packet Loss

Cheers Urbanninja, I had opened a ticket over a week ago and closed it in frustration yesterday. Have done what you recommended, and if they cant fix it then I'll be a nildram subscriber as well I think.

Cheers

Packet Loss

Just an update here; I finally got someone who knows what they are talkng about, and the line checks done by Plusnet are showing a fault as is the grapg from L8NC, which shows 20% packet loss!!!

It did take 7 days before anyone would listen to me though, and I wonder if the PM I sent to Ian Wild came into play as I know he doesn't fart around and gets down to business.
