Opening ports for games

Im struggling to open ports for games or FTP, etc.

Using D-Link Router DSL-604T, done the port forwarding and turn off window firewall and still couldnt get thru the port, used a shield up test from https://www.grc.com/x/ne.dll?bh0bkyd2

deteced that common ports are all stealth not closed! so is it something to do with ISP?

Man I'm totally a freebie on those ports, NAT even though I study computing and electronic @ university.

Hope someone can help me.

What ports are you trying to open/use?

PlusNet do block a few cmmon ports use for virus activity. They are detailed here (note: the 1023 -> 2029 should be 1023 -> 1029).

Also www.portforward.com may be worth looking at for both the ports you need to open and instructions on setting up port forwarding on various routers.

I tried port TCP 21, 80 as well as 5911 for example for Worms4 Mayhem network play.

I also done the steps from www.portward.com.

Did you read this
http://www.wormsmayhem.com/support.html?subsection=online&online=1#OpeningPorts

You need to open all the ports in that link in the windows firewall and your D-link router

TCP Ports

* TCP 80 (outgoing data only)
* TCP 5911
* TCP 6667
* TCP 28900
* TCP 29900
* TCP 29901

And for UDP

* UDP 5911
* UDP 6500
* UDP 13139
* UDP 27900
