Odd problem...

Hi,

ADSL was finally activated today! Cheesy I share my connection between two computers using Proxy+ (www.proxyplus.net). However, after setting up my ADSL modem, webpages on the client computer load very very slowly. Far slower than they did when I had 56k. However, file downloads (using HTTP) which along at 56-60kbps.

What could be causing the pages to load so slowly? Even google takes around 15->20 seconds to appear.

Thanks,
Mike

Odd problem...

We have used Proxy+ on ADSL without any browsing problems. It was some time ago though.

The only thing I can think of is maybe a MaxConnections setting which is too high or too low. You want it around 8 to 10. You should also uncheck the Use HTTP1.1 through proxy option in IE\Internet Options\Advanced

Regards
Matt

Odd problem...

I fixed the problem by chaning the connection type to [None] Leased Line

The other machine's 'net flys along now...
