New user modem query

Hi,

I signed up as a new customer last week on the Broadband Easystart package, although my line hasn't been activated yet (my local BT exchange was only converted a couple of days ago) I was wondering.... is there anything in the rules to stop me using the supplied Usb modem (once I get it up and running) and in it's place use a wireless ethernet modem/router/switch like the Netgear DG824M so I can have a small home network? (3 PC'S)

Thanks,
John.

There is nothing stopping you from doing this at all.

Only you can't sell or get rid of the modem until you are out of your first contract period (just leave it boxed).

Philip,

Thanks for that.
I've been with ClaraNet as a customer for about 7yrs but their Broadband package for the home user "ClaraDSL Solo wires only" at £29.99 a month with a £50 activation fee is just a bit steep and they quite clearly state in their Faq's just one PC should be connected..........anymore and they want you to upgrade to a business package!
They've just lost a customer.

John.
