Hi there

Want to achieve 2 things :-
1.Network based on DHCP
2.Allowing internet access for 2 pc's.

Situration
Network
1.Server-win2000 server
2.client-win200 pro

Internet Access
1.ADSL connection - via client.

Other
1.SQL Server 2000 on Server

I'm a newie to networks - Access\SQL developer.

Qn1:-What is the best solution to this ?

i.e. buying ADSL Router

Was looking at NetGear DG834

Qn2:-Is it easy to set-up ?

Further Information:-
Currently I have a KVM Switch - 1 monitor, but 2 mouses + keyboards.

Any advice most welcomed...

  • Yes. The DG834 looks like a promising product. Do you plan on using a wireless connection for one (or both) of the PCs?

  • Yes. Assuming the DG834 will have a user interface similar to the earlier DG8x4 routers, then it should be possible to be up and running within minutes, simply by "plugging in" the standard ADSL settings on the configuration screens.[/listShocked]
