Netgear WGT634U eMule Connection Problems

I am currently using a Netgear DM602 (in Basic Modem mode) connected to a WGT634U router to share my 2Mbit/s ADSL connection in my home.

Everything seems ok with this setup until I fire up eMule on one of my machines (which has the relevant eMule TCP and UDP ports forwarded to it).

When eMule is started I cannot use the web or collect my email. I also cannot ping basic sites such as

When eMule is shutdown web, email and ping start to work again.

I suspect that eMule is causing the router to be flooded with connections (probably UDP) and it forces the internet connection to disconnect.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Does anyone have any ideas on how to resolve this issue?

Does the WGT634U router have any detailed logging to help me track down the problem (the only logs I can find are the blocked contents ones).

Any help you could give would be much appreciated.
