Modem problem

Voyager 105 USB successfully installed and used however after either a cold or hot restart the modem is not recognised and has to be uninstalled and drivers reinstalled for system to recognise it. Have had to do this on a daily basis.

Seems like there is a conflict somewhere wondering if any one has experienced this and got a fix. Has Norton installed and considering getting rid of it and using AVG just to see if Norton might be the problem. Any other suggestions gratefully accepted.

OS is Win XP (2)

Modem problem

If you plug it in when the system is running, do you get the usual 'new USB device' message above the system tray but XP then fails to recognise the device as a Voyager 105, or do you get nothing at all?
If you list USB devices via Control Panel / System / Hardware / Device Manager, does the list show anything relevant under 'Universal Serial Bus Controllers'?

Modem problem

Thanks decomplexity can`t at the moment check that as I`m actually doing this for some one else who is not very techy. Will check this tomorrow when I go across. Also kmow that modems that take power from USB can suffer when taking power so will try on a different USB port to see if another port perhaps can supply the required power better.
