Mac, Kerio Mailserver & SMTP

Am looking at using the Mac for my smtp mail. I can set it up okay but not sure how I do the finger command in it for when the server is offline.

Does anyone know?

Thanks!

Hi

Not a MAC user my self - but found this via google:

Quote
Mac OS X provides a Terminal application that can be used to work with the UNIX underpinnings of the operating system. To launch the Terminal for the first time:

1. Click on the Go menu and select Computer.
2. Double-click the icon of your hard drive or OS X partition.
3. Double-click the Applications folder.
4. Open the Utilities folder, then double-click the Terminal icon. (Note: To add this application to the Dock for easier access, click and drag the Terminal icon to the Dock.)

Once the Terminal app has opened, type in the desired command.

finger username@hostname

So the commnand would be :

finger postmaster@autoturn.plus.net

I hope this helps.

Thank you for that but I do know how to do it via terminal, just wondered if there was an automatic way of doing it in the application. As if turns out it I can't get mailboxes to work properly so I may not use it anyway
