MX records for SMTP

I'm now on ADSL and need to set up the MX record for my mail server, but I'm confused Smiley

Am I right in thinking I just set:

multipoint.co.uk MX 5 multipoint.plus.com.

OR is it

mail MX 5 212.159.65.177

OR What ?

Thanks

RE: MX records for SMTP

Unsure myself, but try www.samspade.org, and check the results for
yourusername.plus.com
yourdomain.co.uk

- lotsa info on mx records.

As I understand it, if you make the change in your e-mail settings\mailboxes to smtp, you mx records will be generated automatically. The downside of this is that you will not have any pop 3 to fall back on.

Appears to be true for the username.plus.com mailbox, but it doesn't affect the domain that plus net host for me.
To get that on SMTP I need to set MX records for the domain. I just need to know the correct syntax to use under My Domain Names | Configure | Configure DNS Records
