Linksys Wireless Broadband Router

Hi I am thinkin of ugrading to broadband and buyin a new pc and compontents to do so (dont even ask spec ov my current machine its very old). And was wondering weather to go for the solwise sar130 which only has one port (so i wont be able to connect anything else with out a switch or hub) or buy the Linksys Befw11s4 wireless broadband router for £50. Does anybody no if this is a wise move or not the main benifits I can see is it has hardware firewall, wireless, 4 ports, ethernet. Does anybody no any advantages or disadvantages to buyin this router ?

I am not really an expert but no a little.

Thanks 4 your help

The Linksys does'nt have a modem you'll need
a seperate ethernet modem if you bought that.
Look at the WAG54G it has a modem built in.

Hi Marshy,
The linksys is a bit of a bargain for what it's offering
so pretty hard to beat.
You can go for an adsl modem/4 port router and
add a Wireless access point later, You wont save a huge
amount though.
You can get a Netgear DG834 for about £80 it will be similarly
specified, or a D Link DSL504.
The only cheaper solution I can think of is the Origo router,
also known as ASR 8400 you can get this for just under £50 inc.
postage, theres also a wireless version (single ethernet port AWR 8210) for a bit more, but don't expect the specification of the other products.
Look at the topic ASR 8400 in this forum, where it's discussed a
bit more.

ps the topic is 'ASR8100 and when to buy' so may not be identical model.
