Does anyone know if the CD and the software which come in the package with the ASDL modem/router can be read and used on Mac?

Thanks.

I never used the CD on my PC. Note: it is best to configure the router via an Ethernet connection first and make sure you upgarde the firmware to 1.05.00.

The router can be configured completely via it's web interface so you don't need to install any special software on the Mac or PC. As long as the Mac is configued to obtain it's IP address via DHCP or automatically, all you need to do is plug the router into the Mac and point your browser at 192.168.0.1.

Oops! Shockedops: Sorry, I was talking about the netgear DG834 (just answered an thread on that router and got stuck in netgear mode).

As far as I know the linksys can be configured from a browser just like the netgear so you should not need to install any software. The default address is 192.168.1.1 for that router and not he one I gave earlier which is for the netgear.

your forgiven Peter Wink its easy done with so many topics going on!
had my hopes up for an update though,
maybe linksys will oblige one day Cheesy

yes the default Browser for the linksys is as you say 192.168.1.1
and a very easy one to set up and configure too,
the disk that is supplied with it is just a user guide and manual

which i would suggest reading if this is the first wireless router
youve had chiuuk
no software or drivers are on the disk as there not needed

one of the best routers ive had

Thanks very much for all the advice.
I now feel confident enough to take the thing out of the box and have a go.
Hope I will get it up and running without much pain.

Cheers.
