Line Keeps Dropping

Hey guys.

Just recently my line seems to keep dropping. Every 5-10 minutes internet activity stops, msn signs out, teamspeak (voice program) times out and i can't access any internet web pages. After about a minute it decides to start working again.

I have an ethernet modem now and everything has been fine since I bought it a couple of months ago. Any ideas?

Does it coincide with the installation or upgrade to
any MSN software ? that could be a reason,
I would update both MSN if you have'nt already done so
and upgrade the firmware to the modem.
You need to install D Links firmware update utility from your
cd. Download the latest firmware from D Link uk website (uk version),
save the file to your pc and then enter the routers set up page
and run the upgrade.
Other reasons could be modem developing a fault, a line problem
or faulty filter.

Go through the hardware diagnostics in the customer support page (link botton left).

Go through the following tutorials in the tutorials & FAQS foum:

ADSL wiring - to make sure all phones (and sky boxes etc) are connected via filter/splitters.

I;m amazed if i am honest

I am used to a sleepy town with an exchange which is only used about 1/4 of it's capacity thus always returning a green on the exchange status

Sheffield Cutler's status is red - yet my connect has been solid since i got it - no slowdown at peak times.

wicked.
