Lag and very odd speed test results

Installed any Security Software recently?

Has the speed actually noticeably changed? Those results indicate something is wrong, and the Speedtest does have issues with some software, so I wouldn't take that as certain. In fact, the speeds it are reporting are impossible to acheive.

Try using the Speed Test at www.adslguide.org.uk, it is a bit more software friendly in my opinion and works fine if you have Java installed / enabled.

With regards to the Connection Dropping, how far from the exchange are you? What speed ADSL do you have? Do you know your Line Stats (Attenuation, Noise Margin)? Have the problems started occuring or has it been ongoing?

Just trying to get an idea of what it could be...

No everythings as it allways has been, connection is the normall 512 and I first noticed it dropping friday night.

When it starts playing up I can't connect at all, those results where obtained when all lights were green, if it starts during a download the dl will stop and start and eventually give up and then I can't get on but the router will actually signal a connection every 30 seconds or so and then loses it again.

I tried the speed test several times on adslguide and all was ok, so I don't know what to think, I'll run through the suggestions in the Adsl trouble shooting forum and post back. :?

Thanks for the help. Smiley

If everything appears fine at ADSL Guide, and you dont notice drops in the performance of your line, then everything is fine and it's just a bug with the speedtester.

After all, it would be impossible to get 0k as a result, as 0k indicates no throughput. If there was no throughput, then you wouldn't be able to load, let alone carry out the speedtest.
