KVM and ADSL

I have bought a second computer and it shares my monitor, mouse and keyboard through a Belkin KVM switch. The ADSL on my first computer works fine; but when the second computer is powered up, the ADSL modem disconnects and cannot re-connect until the second computer is powered down.
Are there any known issues with KVM use?
The second computer is not connected to the first in any way other than through the KVM switch and does not have any kind of modem fitted or connected to it at all. Thank you.

This sounds like a power related issue.

The localised mains drain, can and will filter though into the computer.

Two solutitions.

1: Make sure your power cabling is up to the job

2: A better PSU in the first computer, that isn't so prone to this sort of drain.

Many thanks for your reply Phillip. I will have to tackle the 'nest of wires' to try this out and so it may take a while.

John Ryan.
