Hi is it common from a 2mb connection to vary between 1400 and 1900? (Usually 1600-1800 though Wink ). Just wondering if this was the norm because I know that my 512 connection was usually steady on a certain speed..

Hi

Does this happen at any particular time of day? May be a idea to check the Exchange checker http://usertools.plus.net/exchanges/

There are lot of people on 2Mb who would be very happy to get 1800, or even somewhere remotely near that figure.

53.3 kbps 56k Dial Up

72.3 kbps YOU
128 kbps ISDN Dual Channel
460 kbps ADSL 500

This is my 2Mb speed at 1 o'clock in the morning, gee whiz
And to think I paid for this.
My 1Mb connection was rock solid, why on earth I didn't stay with it I'll never know.

paulwade,

it could be a number of factors, have you checked your exchange to see whether there are any issues with VPs?

Also it good be that your line was close to the limit of 2Mb, and the upgrade may have pushed the line over it's limit, so at times you can experience a loss in performace or disconnections.
