IP address locations

Your IP and geographical location are in no way tied together.

You are simply assigned a random free IP during the registration process, which is then tied to your IP from then on.

In adition, each ISP has there own IP ranges, as such, geographic IP allocations would only apply to PlusNet customers.

I beleive it will depend on how you go about the moving process, as to and if your IP will change during a move.

IP address locations

Just wondering if there was any connection between IP addresses allocated to DSL cutomers and the BT exchange they are connected to ?

E.g. can you use the number of people on close IP's to gauge how busy the exchange is at any given time ?

Also if I ever move house will my IP address change ?
