Why would my ip profile as reported by BT's speedcheck report 1000kbps rather than something like what my router reports (much much higher). My speed used to be much higher.

Some sort of interference has caused you to sync (perhaps only very briefly) at a low speed. If you stay connected at a higher speed for 3-5 days BT will move it up again.

Thanks, I finally got a reply to my ticket from +net explaining this.

Just to let folks know that my profile is now up to 6500kbps and I'm getting my best speed tests ever. Hmmmm... Is it worth turning the gateway off every nightHuh

I never turn my router off as I would then need to fiddle with the noise margin using DMT to get the synch speed correct.
I have never seen any problem with the automatic system working to get the IP profile correct

Should the IP Profile reported by BT be the same value as the broadband speed reported by Plusnet?

I ask because mine isn't and it looks as if it's stuck.

Hi coaxial,

I have made some changes to your account, can you please re-boot your router and you should be able to connect at the higher speed.

Thanks, that's an improvement. It's reporting 2.5M and testing at 2.3M

Hi coaxial,

Excellent news. Cheesy

I would advise just re-booting your router once a day, and the speeds should increase further.
