I am leaving but help me if you can on somthing

Ok so i am leaving plus.net due to the poor speeds of late and i want 8mb now not months away. Any way i am moving over to pipex and the other day i get this email

Further to your recent application to migrate your ADSL service to the PIPEX
Xtreme Broadband network we have now received a formal response from BT.

Unfortunately BT have advised us that your application has been rejected on the
basis that you Migration Authority Code (MAC) is not valid. This means that we
are unable to proceed with your application until the MAC code is correct.

Therefore can you please contact your current service provider to obtain the
correct MAC code so that we are once again able to process your application.
Once you are possesion of the correct MAC code please contact us on 0845 077
2455.

So today i ring and they said it should be up by the 2nd of may. An hour or so after this i get another emialing telling me this

Further to your recent application to migrate your ADSL service to PIPEX,
unfortunately we have received notification from BT that your request has been
rejected. This is due to your ISP either not responding to BT's request or
refusing to transfer your connection to us.

Please note that PIPEX are not informed of the reason why your ISP has rejected
this request. Any further information can only be obtained from your existing
ISP.

Therefore we are unable to continue with the migration of your ADSL connection
until your existing ISP confirms this is acceptable. Please contact your current
ISP and instruct them to agree to our request.

Once you have done this, please reply to this email and we will then resubmit
the migration request immediately.

Is this what happens when your migrating or is this a problem??

Sorry for it being so long thanks to any one who helps

You should raise a ticket with Plusnet quickly, it seems they may be either:

1) Upgrading you to MaxDSL
2) Moving you to a Tiscali LLU

This happens when Plusnet have requested BT to work on your line, or something similar such as moving to a different LLU. Your migration code then cannot work as your line is undergoing testing/movement etc.

Sounds like this is what has happened.

This link might tell you something:

http://www.dslzoneuk.net/checker.php

Put in your telephone no. and postcode and if it DOESNT say "DSL is activated on this line." and says something else such as "An upgrade is currently happening on this line" etc then something is changing.

If this is the case your MAC has been disabled until the changes have finished. And if you are moving over to a Tiscali LLU there is a chance you wont be able to use a MAC code at all.

Plusnet should be able to update you on the specifics. Once you have them I am sure other users on the forums will be able to offer you more detailed advice.

I would be a bit worried about migrating to an ISP who has not yet realised that this was changed many months ago and the losing ISP is not consulted by B.T. once a mac is issued.
