How do I know my lines activated????

Got the activation and OK for use through on Thursday, my PCI modem arrived today.

My problem is simple, I can't connect, I get connection failure all the time.

I swapped filters and cables to no avail.

What more can I doHuh?Huh

Hi there Dave,
What kind of PCI modem is it? Have you checked your settings?

RE: How do I know my lines activated????

Thanks for the quick reply Mike.

It's a Creative 7430.

The VPI and VCI were already set to 0 and 38.

My only other concern is the ADSL mode.

There are 3 choices -
1. ANSI T1.413
2. ITU G992.2 (G.lite)
3. ITU G992.1 (G.dmt)

Option 2 was default.

I bought a longer line cable and I've noticed that one cable is straight through and the other is crossed on pins 3 & 4. Which is correctHuh

You need it set to G.dmt

If you are plugging the device into a hub you need the crossed over cable. If you are plugging it directly into a PC you need the straight through cable.

Kind Regards

Kevin
