How do I connect remotly to my computer (ftp static ip)

Im using a solwise 110 and cant seem to ftp to my computer... any ideas?

Have you setup the port forwarding for ftp etc?

You have to forward the ftp port to your pc and if you have a firewal on your pc you need to allow this as well.

I assume you have ftp enabled on you pc.

I dont know the router so I cant give exact advice but you log onto the admin of the router and there will be a port forwarding page or it could be under firewall.

You forward the port from your static ip to the internal ip of the pc. As ftp can use just about any port you have to ftp in on the same port. Picking a none standard port is always good as its a bit harder for a hacker to find.

You may well want to investigate a more secure method of transfering files, as FTP sends your username and password unencrypted. I don't know much about it yet, but most people seem to use methods based around SSH.
