How do I check what Max ADSL speed my line is capable of

With the forthcoming new faster ADSL coming up, e.g. 4Mbs, how can I check what maximum speed my telephone line will be able to take. I am on 2Mbs at present? :?:

There is no information available at this time and it probably wont be until the Trials have been completed.
Thats partialy what the trials are for, to find out things like accepable limits.
If you can tell me your line figures then I can make an educated guess Smiley

The first limited trails are running now and these are supposed to be extending to cover more exchanges in a month or so.
However no one has any concrete dates for anything that I am aware of.
It just seems to be a case of wait and see at the moment. Sad

Most (but not all) routers and some modems have it built in so that by accessing the setup pages they can tell you the line figures.
The only other way is to request a "Whoosh" test from Plusnet which will measure the line loss but it still wont give you the Signal to noise ratio.
