Help with Linksys BEFDSR41W Router cofiguration

I have a Linksys BEFDSR41W router and having great problems in configuration.
The protocol that is used is RFC 2364 PP0A and this requires the username and login to connect. However if I configure the router for this setting it does not work.
However plusnet have allocated fixed ip address, can this be changed to server assigned ?. There are 5 modes of encapsulation.
1. RFC BRIDGED
2. RFC 1483 ROUTED
3. RFC 2364 PPPOA
4. RFC 2516 PPOE
5. BRIDGED MODE ONLY.

Which one do I use I need to enter the PPOA protocol but at the same time enter my fixed ip adrees subnet mask etc.
I have used a different router and have had no problems in its configuration so it is not my connection its knowing how to get the configuration of PPOA and entering my user name and password to log in.
Anyone with a LINKSYS router up and running with plusnet I would be obliged with any help or advice you could give. Sad

hi mate

RFC 2364 PPPOA is the one that works
and in username:yourname@plusdsl.net
password:**************(you should know)
subnet mask 255.255.255.0 dont change this otherwise wont work
you do get static ip with plusnet but you dont need to do anything special as you always assigned the same ip everytime.

Username may not be @plusdsl.net, as @plus.net is also used. Unsure you use the right suffix.
According to router type, sometimes the IP address must be entered to get a connection.

True, but reading, it said

I have used a different router and have had no problems in its configuration

So I assumed an existing or older user was possible.
