Hardware Problems

Hi,

I have recieved my hardware USB modem starter pack this morning and I was ready to jump into the fast lane with my ADSL.

Having read the manual and the support section on this site, it seems that my computer is much further away from a telephone socket than 3 meters. Can i buy a RJ-11 extension cord to fix my problem? If i can't there seems no way by whcih i can use my ADSL as i cannot move my computer near enough. Cry

Thanks.

Yes, you should freely be able to an extension cord.

You should however, try to obtain a quality cable, like belkin, or one assured for DSL.

I can provide if you so wish.

The best place to purchase them from, or stores catering for BB users.

See ADSL Guide for links.

DSL Warehouse provide some quality cut length cable on THIS PAGE

From 1, 2, 3, 5, 10, 15 & 20 meter lengths.

I ahve one purchased form there a year back (15 or 20M, can't remember which) which I will part wiht for £6 + p&p, which I am not sure on.

DSL Warehouse charge £5 for this p&p (ouch).
