RE: HTTP freeze

Hi,

Have you tried a different browser?

I would suggest you gave opera (www.opera.com) a try just to identoify whether this is a problem with your browser, or something else!

RE: HTTP freeze

I'm getting the same problem.
I cant open Google, Amazon etc then a couple of minutes later they are fine. There is something strange going on the last few days.

It is not my computer or connection at my end. I also noticed this morning that other people were complaining about a similar problem.

Come on guys, cant you get to the bottom of this one please?

RE: HTTP freeze

Hi Mark,

Can you confirm this is the same problem - HTTP freezes but all other services work fine?

RE: HTTP freeze

I have the same problem you have to hit refresh in order to get a page, whats worse if you go to the portal or plus.net from a diffrent ip and from a diffrent isp the plus net pages wont load without a refresh.

News groups are as bad you often have to refresh to get anywhere.
All other services seem ok.

RE: HTTP freeze

I have had this problem as well. It is traffic on port 80 that dies. Every time I phone I get told to try something else pointless. I can confirm that firewalls, filters (three of them!), browsers and just about everything else don't affect it. I have sent tracert logs, full problem descriptions and even done a done a system rebuild from scratch on a spare machine to prove that it is looking to be a line problem that has appeared in the last 10 - 14 days.

Now I am told to change MTU, this makes no difference I tried it 2 days ago & the problem still occurs. I am pretty fed up, sure I can get data transfer for maybe 12 hours, then it dies and no amount of rebooting, installing, unplugging or anything fixes it. Then suddenly it will come back. I like to think I am competent at this kind of stuff, but realise the support guys don't want to speak to a know all - so when on the phone I have actioned all their requests (even if I have tried them before). I have also switched DNS servers and this doesn't help either.

Is plusnet willing to say that there is an issue with port 80 traffic for some ADSL users? Or is it just a coincidence that we are all having this problem. - Please, this is dragging on a bit now I have been having the problem since Friday last week, but only logged a call on Monday after I made sure it wasn't a PC or software.
