HTTP Error 500 - Website access virtually useless

I can access web sites now, and speed isn't that great, but I can't do anything serious because I keep getting the IE error page with a HTTP Error 500 message. It's been screwing up on secure pages, but also on unsecure pages when I've been dealing with tickets on the portal.

That sounds like the security setting on IE do u get the same problems in other browsers such as Opera (the best!!)

Hi

I don't have Opera (or any other) so I can't say.

My settings haven't been changed and the fault isn't consistent, so I'm inclined to think it's a line problem and probably something arising from PN's antics.

For a quick test try opera they do a lite version which is only 3.4 MB but the full version is the best 11MB as it supports Java..

I just got a HTTP 500 - Internal server error
Is that not a problem with the other site and not yours/my problem.

To be perfectly honest I'm not sure. I think there's some corruption occurring between the accessed server and us. All I do know is it's happened since the PN fiasco and I think the two are related. The worst site, ironically, is the Plusnet Portal. Make of that what you will.
