Fault finding

Hi

We are experiencing annoying delays and lost packets between our Binatone 2100 router (80.229.58.91) and the first onward router.

Using ping and tracert (outwards and inwards from other connections) we are pretty sure this is where the problem lies.

We don't have a spare router to try so can't eliminate this component.

Can anyone suggest any further tests that may help us pin-point the exact cause of our problem?

Many thanks
Gary

You can try reconnecting, until your are on a different gateway (the first node after your router).

If you still experiance problems, then a likely source of your problems is your own equipment.

If it fixes itself, there is a likely problem with PlusNets network.

Hi no7olivier,

Have you had a network packet analyser on this to see wich packets are affected or where they are going or fragmenting? for a useful freebee program "Ethereal" seems popular as a tool? just a thought.

**A quick google for it should give a download location.
