Does LLU get rid of BT?

If you switch to an LLU provider, does doing so remove BT from the broadband provision altogether?

i.e. if I have a connection fault, or speed issue, can I take it up with the LLU provider and forget about BT, or will they still have their nastly little claws and pathetic service tied into my line somewhere?

Yip, it does. If the Service provider has their own kit in the exchange it is up to the isp to identify the issue and task their own engineer themselves. The only way BT could upset the apple cart is if they prevented the LLU provider getting into the exchange lol

Not strictly true... BT still own the copper pair between the exchange and your house (the LLU provider rents the line from BT if they also do voice) so for line faults, BT are still involved if a home visit is required.
