Dodgy connection?

my router seems to be disconecting itself every so often. i've replaced my ADSL microfilter which partially solved the problem, it happens far less frequently but still occurs.

i'm not sure quite what could be causing this!
(router log file: http://www.cyrilthefish.plus.com/router_log.txt )

apart from this minor problem, the service has been brilliant! i've allready reccomended plus.net to a lot of my friends Smiley

Hi Daniel,

This error (from looking at your logs) is caused because your modem is unable to find a route through to our home gateway (remote <internet> does not respond to echo).

This could be caused by a number of things but I recomend first calling BT on 151 and asking them to check your line for a fault and also make sure that the gain on the line is set to minimum (if you have ever had it turned up)

Failing this, check all your equipment and get us to report a fault to BT just in case the problem lies there.

One useful thing to note (if you catch it) is what happens to the link light when the connection drops?

Does it stay solid or does it flash/go off (depening on your equipment) indicating a loss of snych.

If you do need to get us to report a fault just put as much infomation as possible in Contact Us or give us a call.

Regards

Josh

RE: Dodgy connection?

How about my problem, which so far doesnt concern the ADSL connection, but the phone part. I cant hear anything when I receive/make a phone call. Could someone from Customer Services call me? My line was activated just today, and I need to get this sorted out pronto, thanx
