Do I need filters?

Heya,

Just got my ADSL line activated and my Cisco Router is showing the ADSL line is not active.

Ive nicked a spare telephone cable to plug into the router to the wall socket. The line is a single socket and no phone will be required (small four by four room with lots of loud server and barely enough room to move)

Anyways, I know you need filters IF you use a phone, what about if not. Cos if you dont, then my line is bad. OR, is the phone cable crossed or something?

Cheers

AJ

No you dont require a filter as that is only for filtering the phone.

I asume you have set the router up correctly and the line is active

Tommorrow is not going to be a good day me thinks.

Cheers for the info, didnt think I needed filter.

There are two types of modem lead, one works and the other doesn't. Does the one you have just have two contacts on the Rj-11 side, or is there more?

Interestingly enough I tried another lead (the previous lead was from a fax machine) and we are flashing the transferring.

Now, to work out how to configure it with the pix and routers, Sad
