Dissapointed and angry

Fellow customers

I signed up for adsl with plus net on 2002-10-19. On 2002-10-28 I was notified that the adsl was active. The router starter pack arrived on 2002-10-31.

2002-11-03 I sent a "Contact Us":
Hi - I am getting poor upload. This is
importent to me as the purpose of
adsl/plus.net is 'work from home'. Your monitor
does not have upload speed testso bets I have to
show the poor upload is adslguide

Downstream 172 Kbps (21.5 KB/sec) 197 Kbps (inc. overheads)
Upstream 24 Kbps (3.0 KB/sec) 27 Kbps (inc. overheads)

what can i do to improve this? what are you
going to do to improve this?

we have to improve this. we do not have a choice
about that. i take 1yr contract on trust.

I was advised to disconnet my kit, power down reverse all of this after twenty minutes. This ud - very temporarily allevaite the problem.

On 2002-11-04 I put in another ticket to the effect that the extreme poor upstream was still there. This was closed by plus net with a generic messaege about upcoming upgrade.

On 2002-11-05 same procedure.

I waited for the awaited upgrade.

On 2002-11-07 I put in another ticket at 8.30am saying that I still was having bad upstream. I got a response from plus net which is a bit hilarious

Dear Customer,
We have upgraded our ADSL platform this
morning, which should now have resolved
problems like this.

Customer Support

considering that the ticket went in hours after the upgrade!

So this saturday will be the three week anniversary of my signup with this company. And really I have never experienced the service they advertised and which I reasonably expect them to provide.

I am at my wits end with these poeple now. I feel that the responeses to my problem reports have not been symptomatic of a service provider trying to help the customer obtain the service. I made the mistake of signing up for one year.

Can anyone please offer any advice on how to proceed here.

TIA - Lyndon

Sorry my omission. I've got a couple of tin cans and some string also. These might prove to be useful. Preliminary calculations indicate that physical layer this is faster than avian carriers over shorty distance (as in to the nearest exchange, whih i believe i can see from the kitchen windows). Maybe i should write CTCSIP rfc? Maybe for next year.
