Dial-up Modem Speedup with ADSL

I ordered ADSL two weeks ago.

Last week ADSL was enabled, now I'm just waiting for the router.

For 3-4 years I've put up with a dreadful AOL connection using a dial-up modem, with speeds averaging around 5-10Kbps. BT have even rewired up to the master socket.

Now that ADSL has been enabled, my modem is absolutely flying! I bet it was just the 3K filters in the exchange causing the modem to slow down. The ARQ light never used to stop blinking, now it never blinks.

Very strange that Ivor.
It is usual when your line is ADSL enabled for it to slow down by a small amount.
Mine went from 42k to 36k after ADSL.
And others have reported similar in the past.
A fault must have been cleared in the exchange when they wired you up to the ADSL rack?
