DSL activation

Hello

I have ordered the self install DSL service. My ADSL tracker has now given me a Prelimanary activation date of the 7th Feb after 12pm.

Does this mean I'm safe to order my hardware for the line?

Thanks

DSL activation

No not really.

That is the target date that if all goes well. Activation can fail at any time up to the point that BT actually tell PlusNet that the line is working.

If you order it now there is a small risk that you could be left with unusable hardware.

Thanks John

Thanks that's the bit I didn't understand
I thought it might mean I had passed the tests

Safest to wait until it's all given the ok I guess

Yes your line may have passed the initial tests done by BT, but there done from the remote end of the line from you and there are many other factors involved in having a working ADSL line.
Chances are that all will be Ok but as I said above there is still a risk that for some reason like say line noise it could still fail.
To be 100% safe you need to wait until Plusnet advise that your line is working.
In the end it's up to you if you want to gamble.
