DNS Servers that work as of 6.30 pm

As you will know PlusNET is messed up at the mo.
and so is BT servers.

If you can't login to ADSL try the following
change your DNS servers to:

Cableinet/Telewest DNS Servers:

193.38.113.3
194.117.157.4

Until PlusNET get things sorted.

I was offline for past few hours, and these are the only DNS servers that got me back on.
Coincidence maybe? I'm not sure, but if you are having trouble give them a try, as they work fine.

Regards,

RE: DNS Servers that work as of 6.30 pm

Thank Jason, but for me this isn't an option, I use a router attached to an internal network and to do what you suggest would mean having administrator's rights, which I don't. Sad

Still it might be worth considering for the other guys (u lucky you!)

RE: DNS Servers that work as of 6.30 pm

Always check the outside WEB before you write something!
true the servers I listed got me back onto the Plusnet portal,
but the rest of the internet is still not there!
Not sending not receiving, not displaying any thing but blank pages not found!
web applications, well forget about it all!.

The funny thing is I noticed on Uboot.com that not many UK users were on today,
maybe we have a sort of a big problem like a netsplit?
and it only just hit PlusNET within the last 2 1/2 hours?

I did feel lonely on there.. everyone else from Uk were missing,
now I understand! another night of TV then *gets the paper out*
Ahh well Stuttgart VS. Celtic are on BBC-2 (Scotland)

I want to add... my ADSL light kept going out before all this happened,
the ADSL line indicator, plus when I was connected this morning,
every time it went out, YUP I was disconnected around 6 times today.
But this isn't a new problem for me, it did clear up,
but came back and now this.......
well off to watch the football...... good luck PlusNet I hope you get things resolved,
although I believe its something outside of Plus.
BT most likely has a big problem.

Sorry!!!! LOL *rolls my eyes*

RE: DNS Servers that work as of 6.30 pm

Weeeeell I have a client coming over in an hour or so and I think I am going to pull out my trusty modem, thankfully never got rid of it Smiley

I actually pinged the servers you mentioned and the first replies just fine the other just times out like +net ones...

God this sucks!

RE: DNS Servers that work as of 6.30 pm

Hi Guys,

I can confirm that the problem is not related to DNS specifically (Although DNS resolution problems may be a symptom of the routing problem we are having).

In the last 20 minutes work was completed to ensure that all customers were getting valid routing. Could anyone still experaincing the problem that started around 16:30 today please post back and let us know.

Interesting that you had router problems on the same day that Zen did. Some external force perhaps?
