DACS Question

From reports I have seen from ADSL Guide, anything upto 6 weeks whilst checks are made for the viability of removing.

If it costs BT too much to remove the DACS from the line, they will refuse removal.

DACS Question

Hi,

Each DACS removal is different, so there's no easy way of knowing. I'd say the delay would normally be a couple of days, but several weeks is not unusual.

This is because a DACS can be located inside or outside a building, on a pole, or even underground. So in some cases planning permission may need to be granted, specialist engineers or equipment booked, or an appointment made at a convenient time with yourself. It is generally only in the unusual cases or when sufficient line plan isn't available on the pole to remove the DACS immediately that there is a significant delay.

ok thanks but does plus net get in touch with bt to do this, i mean ive checked my tracker and it says it has encounterd problems on the line checks but didnt say anything about removing my dacs or anything.

if they dont contact bt or i carnt get the dacs removed can i cancel this line and install a new one? is there any other way round this? pls give me a suggestion here cause i dont know much about this stuff only that its stopping me from getting broadband :/

thanks

DACS Question

When the order's accepted BT will automatically remove the DACS (so long as they are able to) without any intervention from ourselves unless they are having problems contacting you and need access to your premises to remove an internal DACS.

Our tracker doesn't have the ability at present to pick up the DACS removal at present, if there is a problem showing it is likely something else.

I'm not in work until late tomorrow evening, so I'll take a look then and see what's causing the problem and let you know.

DACS Question

Hi,

I'm not sure what the original problem was but the order seems to be progressing as normal now.
If you keep an eye on the ADSL tracker you should get a commit date in a couple of days when BT say it should be activated.
Provisions have put the order through for the 31/12/03, if the tracker hasn't updated by then give us a shout.
