D_Link 406+ Auth failed

I have been tyring for two days to install this D-Link 406+ modem router and can not get passed Auth failed. I am using the same username and password I have always used.
Help at novice level appreciated

have you made sure you are using PPoE not PPoA?

make sure you append your username with @plusdsl.net

Yeah, I had a simliar problem
I used to be provisioned on @plusdsl.net but now am @plus.net. Happened just after migrating broadband

Yes both formats are used but normally its earlier accounts that are just @plus.net and later ones that have the @plusdsl.net

Going off the date that cragston joined then it should be without the dsl bit added.
