Changing MTU setting in WinXP Pro.

I'm posting this because I had trouble getting Dr.TCP to work with my version of Windows (after saving the settings the registry wasn't altered.

The following is a guide that tells you how to change your MTU setting in WinXP/2000 directly using the registy.

----------------------------------------------
Open up regedit. You can do this by going to 'Run' in your Start Menu, and then typing 'regedit' in the box.

Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters

In the right hand pane right click and create a new DWORD Value.

Name the key MTU

Check the decimal radio button and enter your MTU Value. (145Cool

Exit regedit. Reboot.

Hope it helps.

RE: Changing MTU setting in WinXP Pro.

Good post, I was able to change my value using DR TCP using Win XP.

There is another utility available called TCP Opimiser which will attempt MTU setting changes on a windows system.

Best Regards,

Dave.
