Can't install Dynamode USB modem on XP Pro

I'm having trouble installing the Dynamode USB ADSL modem onto my pc. After folowing the installation instructions and running the installation CD the ADSL icon does appear on the tray on the bottom right of the screen. But the usual "shortcut to wip-tech" icon never appears on the screen and XP Pro doesn't recognise that the modem as being installed.

Has anyone had a similar problem and more importantly does anyone know how to solve it?

Unplug the modem and uninstall the drivers / software.
Reboot the computer and check all the files seem to be removed.
Reboot again and go through the installation process again. Make sure you install the hardware first. Also make sure you are running service pack 1 or 1a as I've heard of some installation probs with people who are not running this.
