Can anyone recommend a good place for .com domains?

I'm registering a domain name on behalf of my Canadian aunt who's a painter and I'm doing her a website.

.com domains seem quite expensive. Can someone recommend the best place to get one?

.co.uk wouldn't really be appropriate in this instance, but is there any other international dot type that would be less pricey?

If you can also recommend a good, low cost host (absolutely no advertising though!) I would be grateful.

Thanks!
Best, Sarah

I use 1and1 for a .co.uk domain and they also do .com for £8.99 (plus VAT) per year, but you normally have to pay two years at a time. The price includes the domain, DNS management and a number of email redirects - if you want other features, you'll have to add those to your package. They do hosting as well, but I've never really looked into the pricing.
I've been with them since 2000, never had any issues at all.

Hi

U will find that it is cheaper to register a .com with 1and1 .com there US site, however to get it u will have to supply a US or Canadian Postal address and most likly a US or Canadian credit card.

In your case that should not be a problem
