Can I use WinME to connect?

Hi

I'm just helping a friend get onto ADSL (currently they have dialup). They have a WinME machine. ideally I'm saying they should get a router, so I need to get them a NIC as well.

I have no experience with WinME. Is it up to the job of networking? Anything I need to look out for?

thanks

Chris

Just treat it the same as Win98 as far as networking, drivers etc are concerned. It should be fine.

While WinMe was not one of M$s best versions of Windows, it should be fine for general browsing, email etc.

ME is a lot better and easier for networking than 98, it has a larger driver list installed so more hardware will work and has better windows file, internet and print sharing built in.

Thanks a lot. I should have said I only have experience of WinXP networking; I guess most bits of hardware will give me drivers for win98/ME, and if not I can find them off the net.
