Can I do anymore?

My request for 2mb refused by BT although Plusnet say I was
on the boundry. My readings are
Att DS 43... US 23 and SNR DS 30.1... US 29.
What I cannot make out is when I input the neighbours telephone numbers
in the checker it says they can all get 2mb. All houses were built 5 years ago
so its recent wiring.
The only difference is the previous occupant of the house had a residential
and a business line installed which we did not want, so that was disconnected. Would this cause us not to get 2mb.?
Can I do any more or is this the end?
.
Thanks
Alan

Hi Mate,

I'm having the same problem, our house was only built 5 months ago, so its brand new equipment, my dad lives on the same road about 10-15 houses away and he has 2 mb, and BT say i can only have 1mb. BT is an appauling company, they really piss me off. (I used to hate NTL, but i would switch back to them anytime)

Its annoying me the fact i have paid £75 for a brand new line that is not capable of 2mb broadband.

Its about time something was done about BT.

Can plus net do anything about it, like get them to retest or something? I am just not accepting the fact they have connected me at 1mb, when i know its capable of 2mb.

Contact Plusnet customer support ask for a whoosh test on your line, they should be able to do a manual upgrade to 2Mb if the test comes back positive

My results following a whoosh test:-

xDSL Status Check OK
Circuit Information
Circuit In Sync
Upstream xDSL Link Info
Loop Loss 23 dB
Cell Count 121
Downstream xDSL Link Info
Loop Loss 43 dB
Cell Count 250

mines exactly the same and ive 'had' 2meg. all of a sudden im on 512k again tho, PN say the noise could be why, but me thinks ud get line degredation, not a whole drop to 512, especially as they say 60-46 is 1meg speeds ¬¬

The downstream limit that BT quote for 2Mb speed is 43db you are dead on the limit, many people get 2Mb above this limit

The only way to find out is to ask for a manual regrade

Yes they can ask for a manual upgrade, I think you may have to pay £14.99 for it and its refunded if the upgrade will not go through.

I would give Customer Support a ring rather than raise a ticket, to find out more details from them.

The C.S. rep I spoke to yesterday says they could do no more after BT
rejected it, and that was that more or less. They refunded my £14.99.
He didnt mention the option to do a manual upgrade.
