Bye Bye

I've been with Zen on their cheapest package for just under two weeks now.
Download speed typically 10 or 15 times that of PlusNet.
Now getting 1.5Mb to 2.5MB (I'm out in the sticks so that's not bad) with Plus 100k was usual, 500k max.
Wish I'd moved sooner after months of poor speed.

Switchover took less than one week and I was only down 2 minutes while I reconfigured my router. Never even had to phone them yet.

I guess I just proved the problem is Plus Net.

Zen have a good reputation and are probably worth the money.

How long is your line from the exchange ?

I have a long line and am considering Zen.

Why pay £15 a month to an ISP like Plusnet that don't want £15 customers on their books.

Bye Bye

I am about 2.5 miles from the exchange by road but I don't know if the cables run the same way. One of my colleagues (I work in IT by the way) lives much nearer to the same exchange, he is with Zen and gets around 7mb pretty much all the time.
Although I am more than happy with what Zen is giving me I'm slightly suspicious of the quality of my house wiring, so I'm having that all replaced tomorrow to see if I can squeeze a bit more out of the link.

My line is a similar length as the crow flies but unfortunately it goes all over the place before it actually heads for the exchange.
