Broadband connection

Why are PLUSNET so slow, I have been trying to get connected with thm for a month. it is impossible to contact them by phone, they use this system of tickets which is a nightmare.
Why did I listen to my colleagues advice about signing up with them. THEY ARE USELESS
Do your friends a favour and recommend any other ISP.

Broadband connection

Welcome to the forums viners.

I'm going to move this topic for you into the Broadband Help forum, as this forum is for discussing Plustalk products.

What stage are you at so far? Is there a fault? What have Plusnet said that is holding up the activation?

Broadband connection

I'm informed that ticket waiting times are the lowest they've been for quite a while. Have you raised a ticket with them / had a response?

I'm trying to help you out here.... just telling me you are waiting doesn't help me - I'm trying to find out why.

Something must have gone wrong somewhere the prompt the delay.

Hi Viners,

I'm trying to chase this one for you now. I'll be back in a bit once I've received some further information.

Broadband connection

Hi Viners,

We have to hold our hands up here, we were at fault.

Account start date was 26th Jan.
Delay owing to DD meant payment was not taken until 20th February.

At this point the order should have been submitted, but owing to human error this was not done. This is being done as we speak, and the order should be completed next Thursday.

Please accept my most sincere apologies for the delays experienced. I'll also drop you a quick PM.

Commendable honesty there James... Smiley

Glad the issue is now sorted.

Now all that remains is to work out why this went un-noticed for nearly 2 months. I assume the OP was raising tickets during this period?

Slow to connect

I had a very similar experience last year
when signing up. After abt two months
negotiation, e-mails and phone calls
I had to bite the bullet and face a possible
£50 charge if my callout of BT engineers
was found unncessary. I'd tried everything and
payments were being taken by DD, so I
took the risk. Result? Bt confirmed the wiring
in this 15 year old home needed upgrading!
As soon as they installed, I was getting a
considerable increase in connection speed - currently
less than 500kbps, which makes me ask:
should this be bettered when BT do their
upgrading in April, or am I still limited by distance from
the excange.. or, can I upgrade the router, etc?
