Blinking D-Link 504!

I've just installed a D-Link DSL-504 router on my ADSL line. Everything works OK, speed is good etc. However, the status LED blinks continually even after the ADSL negotiation is complete & the manual says this indicates a fault. I've tried re-starting the device & it still blinks - even though it appears to be working OK. Has anyone els seen this?

TIA

David

Yes it's supposed to.
If it goes out or stays on without blinking then that indicates the system is faulty.

This is explained fully in the 60 plus page document you get on the CD.

John, thanks for that, I'd downloaded the manual from the D-Link site and on page 6 it says the complete oposite!! - ie blinking status = problem. I'd not bothered looking at the manual on the CD, assuming the one on their website would be the latest - but it's not. That might explain why all the screens are different too!!! Smiley

Anyway, it works a treat, a highly recomendable bit of kit.

Cheers,
David

I have the same thing, and yeah the blinking status light (or heartbeat) is meant to flash, expect when you restart it.

however it does tend to crash a bit
