Binatone 500 modem worked from day1Would Router be better?

I seem to be one of the lucky ones -where Binatone modem has not let me down since I got ADSL two weeks ago.Never disconnected- always a fast connection- but I have every windows xp update possible.

My computer is a 1800 pentium 4 with 512 memory.

I know a little about computers- nothing about Routers!

If I do not have a network at home- is there any advantage in purchasing a router?

Are they complex to set up? Is the firewall the main advantage? I do not have a network card either!

If I am advised to get a router - which one?

Thanks for anticipated responses.

The only reason you would need a router is if you wish to have more than 1 pc connected to the adsl line.

As far as setting up goes, router's are quite easy - plusnet provide installation guides for one or two models.
