Backup number for router

I've got the Zyxel Prestige 652 and I'm mucking about with its backup modem connection. I'm wondering what to put in as the phone number. Presumably the best one would be the PN PAYG number?

I have a couple of back-ups set up.

One is the Plusnet PAYG number, but a couple of weeks backs, both ADSL and PAYG were down so I couldn't connect at all. It's a good idea to have a non Plusnet PAYG account for the rare occasions you might need it.

email relaying

I've considered using another ISP PAYG number. I wasn't sure whether I'd be able to
send email via relay.plus.net while dialled into another ISP though.

That is true, you will not be able to.

However, this is a very limiting factore, which there is no simple way around.

You could however, find a host providing ASMTP, so that you can use a login and password, which will allow for you to use e-mail no matter who you are dialed into.
