BT speedtester profile doesn't match stable rate ?

Hi There,

My stable rate as given via the connections details rate is qutoed at 6500kbps, its been like that for quite some time 9i.e. over a month at least)

However, the BT speedtester website tells me:-
"IP profile for your line is - 6000 kbps"

Is this inconsistency an indication that the plusnet profile is not being correctly up dated ?

Or are these numbers telling me two different things ?

Yes, mine does that too.. According to Plus.net High-speed Broadband Service it quotes 6000 Kbps

But when i do Bt Speedtester i get
IP profile for your line is - 5500 kbps
DSL connection rate: 448 kbps(UP-STREAM) 7104 kbps(DOWN-STREAM)
N/A

BT speedtester profile doesn't match stable rate ?

The MSR (maximum stable rate) is just a figure that is established during the first 10 days of your ADSLmax connection - in normal circumstances this figure will not subsequently change.

The MSR is simply used as a benchmark figure for BT to refer to, in order to determine whether or not there is a fault/service drop relative to when your connection was first provided.

P.S. All the figures you quote are very high - so why the concern?

The concern (which is obvious from my orginal question) is that plusnet gets their data from BT, but the BT and plusnet data does not match. my query is, should the two items match ?
